With promises of advanced technology, a visiting alien race quickly builds a following across Earth. But do they have a hidden agenda? Decker decides to take a hard line on Anna on his next broadcast; Erica is pressed by her superiors on her partner's disappearance. The Visitors are approved for 100 American visas; Erica is assigned a V partner on a case; a resistance starts to form. Chad does a segment on the Visitor Healing Centers; Lisa invites Tyler to meet her mother; the resistance makes its first move against the Visitors. Erica struggles to get her son back from the mothership without blowing her resistor cover; Father Jack gets healed by V's; a mercenary finds himself in the sights of both the resistance and the Visitors.

Erica takes Tyler to see his father; Valerie's pregnancy takes a serious turn; the resistance takes action to stir up further resistance. Ryan, Erica and Jack try to find the legendary founder of the Fifth Column, John May. Anna volunteers a clean power source for Earth; an assassin begins killing members of the Fifth Column. Chad goes to the mothership for his aneurysm surgery; Ryan tells Valerie he's a V; Erica and her cohorts press their captive for information. The Fifth Column seems to prove themselves terrorists; Tyler prepares to move to the mothership; Chad seeks information from Father Jack.

Anna stages the beating of her daughter and announces the departure of the Visitors from Earth. As the Visitor armada arrives at Earth, Anna's soldiers are about to be born and Erica and the Fifth Column stage a daring assault; Val gives birth to the hybrid.      
Season Two

Erica seeks the answer to the mystery of the red skies. Anna confronts her long imprisoned mother; Erica has Tyler's blood analyzed; a fringe of the Fifth Column gets violent. Anna enlists Ryan to uncover the Fifth Column; Lisa begins undergoing a transformation. Erica goes after the leader of the radical faction of Fifth Column; Anna is granted an audience in the Vatican. Anna introduces a new gift to humanity at a New York gala and Fifth Column makes plans to assassinate her there.

Erica is removed from active duty by the FBI; Eli plans grim retribution against Ryan for his betrayal; Father Jack is laicized by the Church for his stance against the Visitors. Erica must prove herself as successor to Eli as worldwide leader of Fifth Column; while Lisa grows further from her mother, her bond with Diana gets stronger. Erica makes some bold decisions against Anna in her leadership of Fifth Column; Anna's human paternal candidates begin to get sick; Ryan becomes a fugitive aboard the mothership. The Fifth Column plans to sabotage one of the Concordia blue energy reactors; Diana urges Lisa to act against her mother. While Anna is focused on having Lisa breed with Tyler to continue the evolution of the Visitors, Diana urges Lisa to stage a coup against Anna.
